
Puerto Rican-American soprano Estarah Berciunas is a passionate and expressive performer currently residing in Kansas City, Missouri. In the 20/21 season, Estarah made her role debut as the title role in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with Lawrence Opera Theatre. Other previous roles include Fanny (Il Cambiale di matrimonio), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), and Gretel (Hansel und Gretel). In December 2021, she gave a lecture recital on Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer.
In May 2022, Ms. Berciunas received her Doctorate of Musical Arts at UMKC under the tutelage of Dr. Maria Kanyova. Estarah received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas where she studied both music therapy and performance and a Master’s degree from the Conservatory at University of Missouri, Kansas City.
In her free time, Estarah enjoys spending time with her husband, two kitties and pup, doing yoga, cooking, and spending time in nature.
